No. We are a self-help document preparation service, not a law firm, and no attorney–client relationship is created. We prepare a document from the facts you provide and publicly available statutes. If you want advice about your specific situation, talk to a licensed attorney in your state.

No one can promise an outcome, and we don't. What a statute-cited certified letter does is change the conversation: it shows your landlord you know the deadline they missed and what a court could award, and it creates delivery evidence if you do sue. Many deposit disputes settle at this stage because the math favors the tenant.

Your next step is usually small claims court, which is designed for people without lawyers and where filing fees are modest. Your state page explains the potential recovery; several states also make the landlord pay your attorney's fees, which makes lawyers willing to take larger cases.

Your letter is queued to the mail house about twenty minutes after you sign it. Orders placed Monday to Friday before 11am Eastern go out that day from our Santa Ana, California facility. After 11am it mails the next business day. After 11am on a Friday that means Monday, or Tuesday when Monday is a federal holiday. There is no faster tier to buy: that short hold is your window to catch a typo, and every order takes the same lane after it.

If we haven't printed your letter yet, we'll refund you in full. Just email us. Once a letter has been printed and mailed, we can't unsend it, but if we got something wrong we'll correct and re-mail it at no charge. Full policy here.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number. Your letter details are used to prepare your letter and send you updates about it, and are never sold. See the privacy policy.
